What’s on nearby?

Close to mythical Glastonbury Tor, The Old Oaks Touring Park is the perfect caravan and camping site to visit Somerset.

There is something for everyone including walking, cycling, fishing and touring.

520ft above the Somerset Levels, Glastonbury Tor gives fantastic views and a sense of Somerset as a cultural and historic crossroads.

Entwined in Arthurian legend, Glastonbury Abbey was the grandest and richest in England and could be the king’s burial place.

At the Forge of Avalon you can purchase your own Excalibur and learn how the weapons are made.

Still in Glastonbury, legend holds that the Chalice of the Holy Grail was hidden in Chalice Well Gardens.

Clarks shoes have been made in our neighboring town of Street since the 1830’s.

Here you can visit Clarks’ retail outlet and museum.

Around the hills are spectacular gorges at Ebbor and Cheddar and the amazing underground caves of Cheddar and Wookey Hole.

Many more attractions are within 30 minutes drive: Longleat Safari Park, Haynes Motor Museum, historic aircraft at The Fleet Air Arm Museum, an enchanting journey to the Somerset coast on the West Somerset Railway steam train or a trip through the Mendip Hills on the East Somerset Railway.

But then, there’s not need to travel anywhere. You can walk the many footpaths and cycle trails around The Old Oaks Touring Park, explore our diverse wildlife and bird-watching habitats or enjoy fishing the site’s well-stocked pool.

Look forward to sampling local Somerset food and Somerset cider at local pubs and eateries or visit a farm centre to see it being made.
