Overbrook Caravan Park is a friendly, adult only caravan park on the outskirts of the picture-postcard village of Thornton-le-Dale in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.

It is ideal for touring the Vale of Pickering, Newton Dale, Ryedale and the beautiful Yorkshire coastline from Scarborough to Whitby.

You will soon discover nothing is too much trouble for resident owners Natalie and Darren, and why so many of their guests return to Overbrook.

Park Facilities

Our park and grounds are maintained to a high standard with colorful planted borders and raised beds adding to the natural beauty of the countryside around us.

Overbrook Caravan Park was awarded Yorkshire in Bloom Gold Rose Award 2010.

50 well-drained, hard standing pitches all have countryside views.

You can choose a regular size with space for an awning or a non-awning pitch.

All have 16A electric hook-up and you are never more than 30yds from a water point.

Our toilet block is heated and spotlessly clean.

Showers are free with plenty of hot water.

Additional features are razor points for the men and one privacy cubicle for the ladies and a hair-dryer is provided.

We have a dish-washing area and a laundry room equipped with two coin operated washers and dryers plus ironing facilities.

WIFI is free and you can pick up tourist information and borrow books from the library near reception.

Shops are a short stroll into the village or 4 miles to Pickering.

Dogs on leads are welcome; there are areas close to the caravan park where they can exercise.

We are open 11 months of the year so you can experience the North Yorkshire Moors and wildlife through the seasons.

During the year we see over 40 species of birds at Overbrook Caravan Park, including the wonderful sight of Kingfishers darting along the beck.

What’s on nearby?

Thornton-le-Dale has a quaint, nostalgic feel with ancient market cross, stocks, thatched cottages and a beck flowing through the village.

It is perfect for a stroll and refreshment stop at one of the tea-rooms or country pubs.

You will soon be relaxed and eager to explore one of the most beautiful and uncrowded places in England.

There‘s moorland and coastal walks, cycling, fishing, golf, touring or sightseeing.

Here, livestock roam freely over remote, rugged Yorkshire moors and crystal clear becks make their rocky descent into Eskdale.

Pickering and Helmsley are market towns for the hamlets that nestle in the dales.

Pickering, a few miles from the caravan site, is the main shopping center with a 12th century castle.

It is the terminus of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway which crosses 18 miles of moor to the pretty fishing harbor at Whitby, overlooked by it‘s iconic cliff-top abbey.

Helmsley is a picturesque, historic town close to Rievaulx Abbey

Within 30 minutes, you can drive to the golden sands at Scarborough and Filey.

North of Scarborough the coastal route features dramatic headlands, high cliffs, hidden coves and abundant wildlife.
